Key Activities

The information below details the time scales involved in the CCA Scheme:

On-going

Activity: Registering new sites (cannot enter in the last two months of a Target Period). 

Background: Any sites currently not in a CCA need to confirm that they wish to join the new CCA.

Likely Involvement: If you have any eligible sites that do not currently have a CCA then you should contact the CCL Help Line as soon as possible to be guided on the next steps.

As part of the revised CCA Scheme, updated reporting timeframes have been defined by the Environment Agency; please see the New CCA Scheme reporting timetable below for key dates for all Target Periods:

February 2016: Return of data for 2015 

All data for each TU must be returned to the CCA Helpline by 26th February 2016 at the very latest. Please ensure the data collection spreadsheets are submitted by the Administrative Contact not from a consultant or external partner.

Once the data collection spreadsheets are returned we will sense check them and e-mail out any queries we have, when these have been resolved we will report the data onto the Environment Agency. Your Data Collection Forms will provide details of your performance against target. 

October 2016:  Last date for new entrants to the scheme for this Target Period.

November 2016: AC & RP checks

Email requests will be sent out asking if any changes to the Administrative Contact (AC) and/or Responsible Person (RP) for your TU have occurred, and if so you will be required to fill out and return a V1 form.

December 2016: Variation Deadline

Final date for variations prior to the end of Target Period 2 (i.e. Change of Ownership, data changes, 70/30 changes, etc.)

January 2017: Data Collection Spreadsheet for TP2

The second target period comes to an end on 31st December 2016. Target Units must then begin to submit their data to us as soon as possible in the New Year.  Please note that if your reporting relies on manual meter readings ensure these are taken as per the set reporting dates.

Data Collection Spreadsheets will be issued in January 2017 and will need to be returned to fsdf@cclevy.com by 27th February 2017 at the latest. The forms issued to each TU will be similar to the forms on which 2015 data was collected, we would ask you to complete the information requested and in addition inform us of any changes to 2015 data if you identify any errors or gaps in the data.

February 2017: Return of data for Target Period 2

All data for each TU must be returned to the CCA Helpline by 26th February 2016 at the very latest. Please ensure the data collection spreadsheets are submitted by the Administrative Contact not from a consultant or external partner.

Once the data collection spreadsheets are returned we will sense check them and e-mail out any queries we have, when these have been resolved we will report the data onto the Environment Agency. Your Data Collection Forms will provide details of your performance against target. If you fail your target further action will be needed.

May 2017: Post reporting buy-out for Target Period 2

The buy-out mechanism, which will be used for TUs which fail their TP2 target, allows you to buy Carbon so you retain your CCL exemption.  This will be in operation from mid-May 2017.   

The buy-out fee is due the Target Unit operator will be sent a Memorandum of Account (MoA) notice with details of:

  • the fee to be paid (and its calculation)
  • the date by which it must be paid
  • how to pay the fee and to whom
  • the consequences of not paying the fee

1st July 2017: Buy out payment deadline

The buy-out fee must be paid (and funds cleared) on or before 1st July 2017. The clearance of funds may take 2-3 working days so please leave plenty of time to ensure that payment is made well before the deadline.

Please ensure that all funds are cleared on or before the 1st July 2017.
